COL. GENEROSO V. MARIANO JULY 3 2011

A native of Central Luzon, Col. Generoso (Gene) Mariano grew up in Nueva Ecija and Pampanga. As a young boy he entered the MSC seminary but eventually left it to become a soldier. For 33 years he served our country as a soldier, becoming a colonel in the marine corps. As a marine officer he was sent to the Spratly Islands and guarded it for six months with his men. He also led the rescue team to look for his friend and fellow marine, Col. Esperidion Javier, who was lost at sea with his men for seventeen days in the seas of the Kalayaan Islands. For 33 years to the present he served our country as a soldier with great dedication and courage, even becoming awarded as the best battalion commander of the marines in 2009. He was imprisoned for almost two years for joining the 1989 coup. Today his admirers and fellow Marine officers say that no one in the present Armed Forces of the Philippines can match his record for bravery. A deeply religious man who starts his day with reading the Bible and who makes his major decisions only after much prayer, Col. Gene Mariano is a genuine officer and a gentleman. He is also a gardener and a very good cook, but most of all a good husband and devoted father to his wife and 3 children and granddaughter.

One of the reasons why the Philippines is backward, less developed than Malaysia,.is this military adventurism. Another coup d'etat and the world will ive its final judgement to the Filipinos, without sense of unity and stupid - does not think deeper.

Why are the investors and the capitalists flock to Malaysia? The leaders are not corrupt and very few Malaysians are stupid, unlike in this country.
