  • Would this work with a strat-like body shape?

  • @dachfo123 Strats are flat but you can build one with a arch top, I have built two Tele style guitars with arch tops.

  • Now why dont you carve it? Chisels get custom results, and it gives have more control over the shape. Time is money, but so is labor. what you lose in time, you make up with in labor, right?

  • @Randazzo118 I'm am trying to teach people how to make an arch top and there are other ways to do so . This is the easiest method that I know of. Instead of putting down this method why don't you show us all your technique.

  • looked like a good starting point to me....thanks..

  • @guitwild For real. I love your videos and you don't use a million expensive tools that most people will never be able to get a hold of. Thank you so much for your knowledge sharing.

  • @guitwild hey I'm sorry man I didnt mean any offence, I make guitars too, i mean, i'm not saying that this is a bad method, its a good one, and your right it is the easiest, and the safest. i was just trying to make a piont. and you made a tele with an arch top? like les paul archtop style or more of a Schector archtop style?

  • I do the same thing, however, I used a Safety Planer in my drill press and added an extra step. To blend the steps, I used an Iwasaki rasp, which works super fast and with little effort.

  • I was able to do this with only one milled-out 'step'. i got more of a Gibson-style arch where there is a flat outer rim with a belly in the middle. i suppose all ways work :P

  • Can you send me the demintions of the rows you did?
