I use Potassium Permanganent for external, metronidazole in food, garlic food, spurilina, vitamin booster, etc...you can experiement to see what works for you...but honestly some fish I buy never gets a chance to come into my fishroom because I just cant clean them well enough to feel safe. I have L46, Spotted mouths (Lower Xingu), HR Koi angelfish, Discus, etc...that I feel are worth more than a few new fish that looks cool and sound cool to have. I had 12 L260's that never made it to my room

because they just couldnt stop jumping and scratching themself even after 3 months. But anyways when Q-ing new fishes, if after week 4 or so, they look healthy and happy eating everything you feed them, then that is when I slowly start introducing water from my fishroom and "1" fish mate to see how they all reacts. If everything goes well both the new fish, and the fish I introduce, then in two more weeks, they can come in my fishroom. I have close to 100 tanks so I have to be extremely careful

I have been breeding bristlenose for about 15 years. The biggest tip I can give any one is to first kill off any parasittes that they may have. This may take a few months, but its well worth it. When your fishes are disease free, they tend to grow faster and look much more colorful. Also another tip is to Set up a basic --1 specie tank with rocks, woods, and a few caves in there, they will do everything else themselves.
