  • Will people please stop commenting on what these guys are doing "wrong" I have trained goju for twenty years, and in all the clubs i have visited everybody does Karate slightly different. As for the comments "it took me 2/3 months to master this Kata" if you ever think you have mastered Sanchin you are just kidding your self.

  • I actually take this exact style of karate and this is one of my favorite katas ever!!

  • @printer3210 Breathing doesn't matter how it's placed, as long as it comes from the root of your body. You should be able to feel yourself being rooted to the ground and all air should escape your body. If done extremely well, should feel light headed when done the kata. If you don't feel light headed, then you are doing something wrong, as this kata is only meant to be practiced once every now and then, not consecutively due to headaches. There are different types of breathing

  • @spideyzx6r THANK YOU!!! It takes at least 3 years to fully master a kata and that is even technically off, since mastering a kata varies with what is categorized and what you think means "mastering." I've been in Goju-Ryu currently 20 years (and counting) and after going to my fair share of tournaments, everybody does it slightly different. Unless people understand "kimae" and "bankai," they will never be close to even perfecting the kata.

  • @brazilianspiritzz yes. pushing it all, every last bit, out.

  • Great - hard to explain but sanchin makes goju special. Not the showiest ever kata but the bedrock of goju.

  • NICE BERY NICE .......

  • Their breathing is NOT correct!

  • @brazilianspiritzz I call it the death gargle every last breath :)

  • should have your hands out a bit more like your holding a baral

  • i would love an exam, where the sensei would hit me that soft, come on man i'm a lower grade and i get hit even harder
