Save a few unique writers, there are thousands of writers that can do any of these jobs. That makes them line workers. I am certain there are thousands of people that would do a great job writing and for much less in wages and benefits and yet still be a fair wage to the writer. You people get into these unions and think you are entitled to something. Take your union and go away. THEN the system can go on as good or better without you!

The vast majority of movies and shows become successful because of the the actors or directors. Most of the largest successful projects have little to do with the writers and more to do with who the actor is or the visual explosions or computer graphics. How many times have we heard "the movie was a bust despite great writing". Writers ARE needed, but the success of the film has very often little to do with the writer.
