THE REVOLUTIONARY SPINALMOUSE NOW MAKES SPINAL ASSESSMENT SAFE, EASY,
FAST, ACCURATE, RELIABLE AND OBJECTIVE.
Loss of function in the spine may have a significant impact on health before the appearance of
pain or other signs and symptoms. For example, loss of movement or stiffness in the spine may
lead to associated degenerative changes changes that could be prevented or possibly reversed
with timely intervention to restore function, but that may be irreversible before warning signs of pain
first appear, and may later lead to pain, disability and other health problems. How can you make
this clinically important information regarding loss of spinal function relevant when a patient is not
in pain, or provide support for restoration of function and necessity of your care beyond pain relief?
The SpinalMouse now provides the answer. As well as allowing you to objectively monitor and
document the progress of patients routinely presenting for care, you now have an innovative and
powerful assessment tool that can objectively reveal a loss of spinal function before obvious
symptoms and other health problems appear, as well as objectively document proof of progress in
spinal function beyond symptoms.
The SpinalMouse is a revolutionary, computer-aided spinal assessment tool that can quickly and
accurately determine the shape, posture and global mobility of the spine, as well as the mobility of
each individual vertebral motion segment (T1/2-L5/S1). The results are registered and visualised
by the practitioner and patient as functional graphics clearly identifying areas of abnormal function.
The SpinalMouse is manually guided over the skin of the back alongside the spinal column. The
measuring head follows automatically the sagittal and lateral shape and records clinically relevant
data via telemetry to a computer. Results show excellent validity when compared to x-rays.
SpinalMouse graphics clearly display the curvature and mobility of each motion segment of the thoracic and lumbar spine, identifying 'red flag' areas of abnormal function, loss of flexibility, segmental hypomobility/hypermobility, areas of compensation, scoliosis, pelvic tilt and motion at the hip joints.
As well as becoming an integral part of your practice, the SpinalMouse is perfect for screening
events and open days. While it is recommended that measurements be taken directly on skin, a
measurement in clothes can give fairly accurate information. Patients get excited when they see a
printout of their spine showing all the relevant information, and get the right impression of your
practice working with patient friendly and leading edge technology.
Measurements can be taken by any trained staff member and printed out on a one page paper
report, freeing up the practitioners valuable time. The practitioner then discusses the results with
the patient and is able to make and document clinically relevant statements. This leads to new
patients and to referrals from satisfied customers.
