Very well said!

@ragonamuffin We are past soon and it is still too expensive for 95% of the population to justify.

The Pentagon just release that $1 trillion dollars worth of lithium was discovered in Afghanistan recently. Now I'm no conspiracy theorist, but that seems like a nice little profit. Controlling Afghanistan, like we've been trying to do for nine years, might make us the controllers of next gen power similar to the Saudis with oil. So is "green" energy and global warming about the environment or money and power?

Lithium ion batteries are nontoxic and are the only batteries that can be disposed of by throwing them in the trashcan. It took 100 years to get cars to get 35mpg on the highway, it took 1 year to get hybrid cars that get 50mpg in the city. Hybrids are the future until battery technology makes internal combustion engines pointless and archaic.
have you thought about adding some solar cells to the top of the roof so it can charge your batteries in the parking lot while not in use from the energy that the sun gives out?
It could be used to charge the batteries that you have in your Prius.

There is a company in California that installs roof solar cells on Prius and Toyota announced their 2010 plug-in Prius will have a roof solar panel as an optional extra.

i guess it would also depend how much you drive. if you don't do much it won't help making up the difference from initial cost. the quick fix that i was talking about was environmental. it's a lot more pollution to produce a hybrid than a normal internal combustion one study said a hybrid produces about the same as 10 hummers!!! but right now we're going crazy about th air but not so much for water and soil, batteries are very toxic to them but no carbon monoxide. this helps it's image.

A kw/hr cost about the same be it from a wall socket or at the pump. The REASON it's costs 10 - 20x more to drive a petrol powered car than an EV is because it blows most of the energy it consumes out the exhaust and the radiator, about 85% in fact. A petrol powered ICE is hardly more energy efficient that an incandesant light bulb.
Any study that tries to paint Hybrids as more poluting are paid for and planted in the press by oil companies.
The ENTIRE auto industry are introducting EVs

i don't see the savings here, sorry. buy a corolla great on gas cheaper to buy and a much better ride. no offense to you i just don't see how they're any better. quick fix doddging the problems, but they sell well so they must be doing it right.

This is because you are not aware that driving in EV node costs $0.02 per mile while Anything running on petrol is only 15% energy efficient and cost 10-20x as much per mile.
