The educated and the religious clash over legalized abortion

Legalizing abortion in 1973 caused the educated to support a bad law just because it was now the law. Life was made much harder for the so called religious who did not believe in abortion and for the educated who did not want to pay the consequences of a law that was now legal. Powerful women were soon proclaiming they had finally attained the woman's 'right to choose' and even belief in God took a big hit because abortion and a God who did not believe in killing were not compatible. Where is all this going to lead, hopefully, not to civl war.
