Apparently, it is from Washington Square, a show hosted by Ray Bolger (1956).

Being a teenager in the 50's & 80's. Wow. My grandmother went to high school in the late 50s. How fun. My mother went to high school in the late 80s. How fun. The most rebellious decades in American history for teenagers and youth overall. Now, not so much. We're not rebellious, we think we're better than every generation. I guess all that rebellion went to our heads. You can thank the 50s and 80s teens for the behavior of today's youth.
