Melt-Banana - Live October 1, 2011 - "Lost Parts Stinging Me So Cold" - WOW Hall, Eugene, OR - Lost and Found (Neko Neko) Tour

----------------
On Saturday, October 1, the CCPA and U. of O. Campus Radio 88.1 FM KWVA proudly welcome Melt Banana for the very first stop on their North American Tour.

Melt Banana is a band based in Tokyo, Japan, consisting of Yako, who sings (in English) and writes all the lyrics, and Agata, who plays guitar and writes most of the backtracks to the songs, backed by drums and bass. They have been exploring the music world -- putting out 10 albums and more than 20 singles, and taking part in several compilations.

The sound of Melt Banana is pretty intense, and their music attracts people who are musical adventurers, who desire to feel something new from music or who just love music. Some people say they are a noise band, some people say they are a hardcore band, some people say their music is like a roller coaster in an amusement park. It is hard to categorize their music, but basically they are a rock band with a spice of punk. The easiest way to find out if you like them is to come to the concert and listen to their music.

Fans of the band include Lou Reed, John Zorn, Tool, Mike Patton, the Melvins, and anyone with a passion to see the possibilities of music. Fans at the WOW Hall voted Yako their Favorite Female Performer in the WOW Hall Awards for 2005.

"It seems that many things happened in 2011 in the world," says Yako. "I am not sure where we human beings and this world are heading. But we just keep going, anyway. We named our tour 'Lost and Found tour'. We hope what we find will be good one."

The USA tour is subtitled "Neko Neko". But why?

"Neko means cat in Japanese. Once one Japanese writer said, 'Melt-Banana is like a cat.' And we like cats. Neko Neko sounds cute, doesn't it?," she smiles.

Melt-Banana is like opposing points of view. Seriousness and humor, like their style of music containing noise/hardcore and pop. Their sound is intense and hard but at the same time catchy, and they are fun to watch.
