Today is National Coming Out Day for 2010. I am gay and coming out of the closet today. Some of you already knew that I was gay but many of you did not. A year ago today, I promised myself that I would post a video here on the CountryComesToTown channel for National Coming Out Day 2010. This is not an easy decision and my life may never be the same after I announce this. But, I have decided to start living my life openly and authentically. I was born this way and it is absolutely ridiculous for anyone to say that being gay is a choice. No one that I know would willingly choose a path in life so difficult. I'm proud of who I am and if there is any sin involved, it has to be the sin of constantly lying about who I am. Being in the closet is lonely, isolating and difficult. It's why so many people call the closet a toxic place. If you are gay, lesbian, bi or trangender and still living a closeted life, I encourage you to join me today. Step out of the closet with me today and begin to live your life openly and authentically.

  • @Rfritz09 Thanks Russ. It was a year ago yesterday that I made that video. I thank Michelle of OutLateButGreat for giving me that gentle shove out of the closet! :) Thanks for watching and for the kind words. -Jim

  • As far as I am concerned, Jim.. YOU have always been the real deal. Never two faced or duplicitous.

  • @SugarInHisBlood Thanks Steve. I feel the same way about you my friend!

  • I'm a straight guy, but sympathetic to anyone who is oppressed. You seem like a good guy and you're earnest.. That's important. Good luck to you my friend, and I have the same hopes you have.

  • @lizardking067 Thanks so much for watching and for the support! -Jim
