Partly narrated by Wainwright. This walk was obtained from go4awalk.com - walk # C228 where you can download a map, instructions and GPS files if you need them. http://www.go4awalk.com/walks/walk-search/walk.php?walk=c228

LYRICS

Take me to my resting place,
This land I'm in, I have no faith
My soul is lost
Let me be free
Let rest the woman I know me to be

Take me back where I belong
Where my soul is warmed, my heart aint worn
On this foreign land, I'll stay unknown
Take my heart, my soul
And guide them home
Starts in Buttermere village, along the lake, up Haystacks and back down the other side of the lake. This is a great walk, in the footsteps of Wainwright who's ashes are said to be scattered at Innominate Tarn.

  • I entered this video in a competition last year - I won a two night stay with meals at the lovely Storrs Hall hotel on the shores of Windermere - and very nice it was too!
