http://PrecisionDoor.net/GarageDoor-Openers/ There are 3 types of garage door openers to consider: Chain Drives, Belt Drives, and Screw Drives. Each is suited to a type of lifestyle and noise tolerance. Only you can decide which is the best fit for you. Listen to the difference in sound and decide which is best for you.

  • @hankjones91 yep

  • genie screw drives blow get a liftmaster 3280 belt drive i install them all day

  • @Liftmaster1280 - Sorry if it read that way. I just figured I needed to explain my point better but accidentally wrote my choice is screw drive. I meant the JackShaft drive or chain drive is my choice. NEVER would it be screw drive. I was shocked when I read Screw drive is my choice, kinda like how did that get there? Oh well! Sorry you misunderstood the pissed part. Thanks!

  • @specialks1953 ok don't need to be pissed!

  • @Liftmaster1280 - I didn't say that the noise is the most important factor. Screw drive is my choice or I would not have posted I bought this style opener! I hope you understood my point but it seems you didn't!

  • @specialks1953 if you wan't noise get the genie screw drive

  • All Genie openers are garbage. I recommend LiftMaster Belt drive because you can find parts anywhere and it's easy to work on!!!

  • liftmaster

  • That Belt drive opener is so quiet!!! DAMN!!!

  • What about a belt drive vs a direct drive 3/4hp Sommers . Which is quieter? also the limited moving parts on the direct drive seems like it would be a plus. I look forward to your review of the direct drive openers. Thanks

  • For doors with torsion springs the JackShaft drive is GREAT. I bought one recently. My only other choice would be the chain drive because the cost and if my garage door is moving, I WANT TO HEAR IT, anywhere in the house if possible. It is kinda like a cow bell on the door to alert me/everyone that someone is entering the home space. I agree that the belt drive is quiet but I don't want quiet. I purchased the JackShaft drive Liftmaster because my door is 12' tall & chain drive won't work, normal

  • liftmaster 3280 or dc motor 3580 are the best R.C Garage Door /West Sacramento

  • hormann. nuff said.

  • Looks like a Marantec 4700 Belt drive. Great quiet machine..but i have a lot of complaints about remotes and keypads failing.

  • you can get either the whisper drive or 3850

  • i was on your website

  • the liftmasters the best out of merantec and genie

  • I have two liftmaster belt drive I love them one is a 1280R and the other is a 2280-267 both are one 7ft high ideal door steel insulated doors how reliable are the liftmaster belt drives?

  • Sommers are cool if you have a big wallet, for my market the REQUIRED selling price on the Sommer is about $150 higher than a high quality belt drive unit. Unless you are one of the dealers that charges out the wazoo for a basic unit.

  • There is another type of garage door opener. The SOMMER Direct Drive. The strongest and quietest available opener on the market.

  • dont buy that....get a chamberlain whisper drive or a liftmaster 3280

  • Stupid Comparison...They should have compared 3 from the same manufacturer at least!!! A lift master belt drive is quiet....

  • THE BEST ONE IS LIFT MASTER!!

  • what is the belt driven called i love it its so quiet were can i buy one

  • On the first two Openers somebody forgot to trim off the excess black steel piece that's connected to the J bracket!!!
