I know you shouldn't have to, but if sound is a concern always use a separate mic. I'm a professional and no crew has ever shot anything with an on-board mic. Even a hotshoe shotgun is better. Beachtek do an XLR adapter for cams like this.

@ussprinceton2004 sony vegas movie studio hd platinum. around 150 quid. does all of the above. upgrade to vegas pro if you like it!

The image quality of this cam rocks. Though I do wonder how long the fan will last over time...

Thank you! i new that there was no way a little fan like that could be a big deal. theres so many people bitching about the fan. they seriously just need something to complain about.

what is the best laptop computer on the market to edit, render, playback, upload HD video on the internet, etc., for $2000 or less?

I'm in a recording studio... fan noise highly audible... not good... couldn't use that without an external microphone.

@MaghoxFr i'm afraid a Core i7 + 4GB RAM (even more) is what's needed!

@Keskusrikospoliisi ... I hear it big time too !!! ... using full range speakers/earphones.
Can you let me know what settings you have the camera on. Is it on iA or on Manual? Is AGC on or off? I have this camera too, and no matter what I do I always get the hum of the fan in my video in quiet or loud room. Thanks for your help.

@poto4587
I keep the default auto mic setting of AGC on since it has not been an issue so far with my videos with the internal 5.1 mic or external Rode SVM. There should be enough manual control to satisfy any user just check the TM700 user manual.

So far I have only used 1080p60 mode and even in a silent room the internal fan is not an issue with the internal 5.1 mic.
