  • Because of two things:

    1) The robots have to change shape to combine in the first place, hence "variable".

    2) The formal name is Formation OOC. "Variable Formation" is a nickname that Ryusei invented, and he's an idiot. An awesome idiot, but still an idiot.

  • I came.

  • Aya agrees that Variable Formation sounds better than Only One Crash which sounds unlucky.

  • "Because Formation "Only One Crash" is more awkward then "Variable Formation"... and yes, because Ryusei renames everything into more awesome yet idiotic things. In the actual games, one of the more entertaining things to do is shove him into various other people's mechs and see what he comes up with for lines.

  • @nerdorama009 This is how I'll use it. "Why do you have to say "BlackHawk Formation" when you combine?"

"Because that's a little nickname that Railfan1 invented. And Railfan1's an idiot. An awesome idiot, but still an idiot."

  • @nerdorama009 Well said. I think I'll use that in my own series, "The Rise Of The BlackHawks"

  • Fusion porn.

  • @WillRennar Actually, in the original Alpha cutscene, you'd notice that they connect properly.

  • @darkmirage0 From what I gather, the unit's held together by Aya's Nendou Field (hence why using this is such a drain on her in the series).

That being said, yeah, that is a stupidly flimsy connection on an otherwise-badass machine.

  • @zenclinkz Thats the transformation sequence button/lever.

  • 0:35 In the future, handbreaks will be used to speed up ur robot.. how ironic..

  • Hm... is it me, or is the R-3's arms not attached to anything? You know... when the shoulder blades open up at around 1:04?
