tonic = 1st note of the scale the chord is taken from. Basically, the name of the note... If Chord is C Major, tonic is C, etc.

Is there a way to get this vid without you singing? At times its hard hearing the left hand and you weren't really clear with the hand in the first place...thanks

it's cause the left hand really isn't a big problem... I play the tonics of the chord, which is the letter name of the chord.. So if you're playing A Major, you play an A or 2 on the left hand... E Minor, E... etc.
