9 months after the initial outbreak & 3 months after it spread to Europe, the infection has reached Australia, spreading quickly down the heavily populated East coast. People in isolated rural areas seem relatively safe, but even here its just a waiting game...
This is an attempt to recreate the look & feeling of 28 Days Later & its sequel using similar techniques & ideas, with a low budget & limited shooting time.
This was a first year film from the RMIT Screen Production (Film & Television) course.

  • That wa awsome.... wut kind of camera did yuh use or wut did yuh use to make this because me and my brothers and planin to do one..

  • @TheTNA55 It was just a Sony PDX something or other (a while ago now) standard def camera. You could pretty much use any of HD camera & get the same effect, if not much higher quality.

The interlacing is the thing you'll need to watch out for in the rapid movement areas, but the most editing software will let you de-interlace it, no problemo.

  • Very very good... I'm planning on possibly creating one myself. But don't know if I should do normal movie style or shaky handheld style!?

  • @sweetvideos4all If you are copying 28 Days Later they use a mixture of both, depending if it is an action or a quiet scene. I think that's better than the completely hand held style that's taken over.

One trick that I learnt, if you don't mind me telling you, is using a really high shutter speed - up around 500 - when doing action to give it that crazy sharp look you can see about the 2:30 mark.

Good luck mate! Let me know how it goes & maybe subscribe to me if you want to see my new projects!

  • that was better than i thought it was gunna be. only prob is that its basicly the opening to 28 weeks and the ending to 28 days. something original would have been good but i still liked it.

  • @spinkydoodle101 That was definitely my inspiration. To be honest I really wanted to catch the feel of the opening sequence so I made something very similar. To learn by copying.

There are some great, very original fan films out there tho. Check out RAGE if you haven't seen it!

  • I'm so glad I could find this again! Haven't seen it for 9 month's.

    Love it!

  • That girls scream is really loud and annoying

  • 1:46 Is that a Shaun of The Dead reference or just coincidence...

  • The low budget zombie flicks are always the most scary for some reason. hint hint Hollywood

  • 16 people are infected

  • So very good! Re kindled my interest in making one myself :)

  • cool

  • yeah, really good movie, but for the real zombie apocalypse, remember to barricade the doors and windows... it probably wont help, but it gives you more a zombie apocalypse feel... which is necessary if you're gonna survive =D

  • The most realistic version ive seen great job!

  • Very good, I was not expecting something like this. The dad and the girl are good actors. Thumbs up!
