  • Thanks for the comments. Am working on an Economic Development piece now, and will post soon.

  • Actually, the levels of corruption is fairly low and the government is very stable, and they are working hard to bring their economy. Their future is bright.

When it comes to development, Cape Verde ranks 5th in Africa. They've done well but using tourism, fishing (Lobsters, crabs, and swordfish), and communications. They're even working to have special status in the EU with Portugal and Spain supporting it.

    The future is bright!

  • There was inter-colonial migration from all Portuguese colonies to Cape Verde because it was an important shipping center for trade (not just of slaves) between Europe, Africa, Latin America & US. That means that people from Goa (India), Macau (China), East Timor (SE Asia), Brazil, African colonies, Portugal, & Sephardic Jews who fled to the islands make up Cape Verdeans. And many inter-ethnic relationships were CONSENSUAL. You can see the rich diversity in Cape Verdeans in diaspora & islands.

  • @verdiano66 I am willing to spread the Truth pls visit my channel anytime and leave feedback positive or not...

  • @Amocee Excellent point. Not only have we forgotten our history but there arent many able or willing to teach it.

  • @Amocee I'm very well aware, as are most, what not only Europeans did to Africans, but Arabs as well.. Yes I am from America.. Ask yourself this.. Do you personally derive from Africans or Europeans? I mean, is the color of your skin a true teller of that? We share African, European and Moorish blood in our veins.. I agree with u that the history of "shame" is very relevant, but you can only get so far with it.. Not really disagreeing with u, it is the way it is

  • @manormyth77 It matters to me...maybe you are not from the country America but my fore-fathers were SOLD into slavery! Why is there no unity as A WHOLE because WE have forgot OUR history..."the big picture" is the European has had his finger in everyones momma since the beginning of time...All we have to do is forget the past and the future ignorance is already begun..peace learn your history Creolo's and la's

  • @Amocee "Slavery" was a business, we all know the shameful history that Europeans, and "sellout" Africans took part in.. But what does it matter now that we are so mixed in our heritage and bloodlines? Perhaps my roots derive from an African warrior, or perhaps they derive from a Slave master, does it really matter? We can all paint the picture we want but it doesn't change the fact that there wouldn't be a Cape Verde if slavery didn't happen.. Think "Big picture" my friend
