I wouldn't have said it was 'hip' until they brought it to the foreground. so now they are assholes for bringing it from a cause among many to the hip one for all the kids. Actually, I know a bit about both. For example I know the monks in Tibet weren't exactly saints -more like fierce dictators ruling over the locals. So, not much difference with the Chinese, maybe even better now.
