The GOP is no longer a viable alternative to political discourse in this country. The utter failure to respect the process of compromise is an affront to democracy. The leaders of this once useful party have shown themselves incapable of leadership. Further support of this laughable party of ignorant cowards afraid of their own shadow is reprehensible and frankly, UnAmerican.

I don't feed my horse marijuana, that would be a waste. Everyone knows horses get paranoid when they ingest weed and start getting wild-eyed and busting out of their corrals. Anyway, the last time I got Buckles high, he just kept ordering pizzas on my credit card and drinking all my beer. Horses... you just can't trust them. Plus they bogart anything you pass them and then blame it on having hooves instead of fingers. Silly high horses.

Stimulus programs never stimulate anything but unemployment and recessions. How does taking wealth from those who produce it and giving it to politicians to spend supposed to help the economy? Take a look at what these politicians said the unemployment rate would do if the stimulus wasn't passed. The actual rate went even higher! The reason why it went up so high was because of the stimulus, not despite it. Keynesian economics fails every time it is tried.

you don´t know what you´re talking about.

It´s clear Obama´s initial stimulus program has been effective in stemming the economic meltdown he inherited, just as it´s pretty clear that his bail-out of the auto industry is working. The vast majority of centrists economists agree that without that stimulus spending, the recession would have been far worse, the spending on unemployment even higher, the tax income even less, i.e., the debt even worse.

Let's see. Congress, when Bush was President, raised spending (a lot), increased regulations (a lot), and made the tax code more complicated. The only thing they did right was to slightly lower tax rates (temporarily). So no, he did not do what I am suggesting. He mostly did the opposite.

Historically speaking, the sharper the recession the quicker the economic recovery. However, this only holds true if the government keeps their mittens off the economy. The more the government actively does to try and help the economy, the longer it will take for the economy to recover. The best thing that government can do to help the economy would be to lower tax rates, simplify the tax code, reduce spending, and repeal as many regulations as possible.

You don´t know what you´re talking about. we are much better off today than we should have been able to expect we would be, when viewed from the bottom of that deep chasm 4 years ago.

And you goddamn well know that but stubbornly won´t admit it.
