TRIALS SHOW PROBIOTICS CAN BEAT IBS

Irritable bowel sufferers in the UK could be thrown a lifeline thanks to some new clinical trials.

Six million people have to cope with symptoms ranging from diarrhoea, constipation, bloating, abdominal spasms, an urgent need to go to the loo and excessive wind.

Scientists have long suspected that probiotics can help maintain digestive health and transit, but new clinical trials have found that a high strength multi-strain probiotic, known as LAB4 or ProVen in the shops can benefit sufferers.

Participants who took part in the trial said within 2 weeks they noted a reduction in the severity of abdominal pain and how long it was lasting, as well as a drop in abdominal bloating.

This video looks into the research and also the impact of IBS on the life of a sufferer.
