YESS! I think a bell on any engine is uber cool. Such tradition and pride it brings. (Non firefighters might think WTF? am I talking about) but rolling up to a mutual aid assignment with your rigs bell ringing and you see the other department crews start to turn green....lol
That and when the engine exits the bay, it lets people know it is coming out in case they are walking in front of the bay. It prevents death or injury. They do not just hit the air horn or the siren because it too loud to do it inside of the bay.

on many seagrave firetrucks you have the bell mounted in front of the officers door its a tradtional and I like it
