Burntplains, Dale went on in the Broadway production many, many times - she was the standby. Also, you comment on Little Edie: Which Little Edie? Young Little Edie or older Little Edie?
The problem with taking video of a medium meant to be experienced live is that all the nuance is lost - archival and b-roll video is broad spectrum that only captures the larger gestures... and then magnifies them beyond what the actual performance is.
The live production was far better than this video.

I wanted to fly out to see this production but I feel like it would ruin the magic memory I have of the broadway production I attended 6 times! Dales sounds British to me and the woman playing little edie sounds too heavy (vocally) to me! It needs to be much more spoken! Good Luck!!
