The following is a clip from a lecture by Robert R. Cargill, Ph.D. in his course, "Jerusalem, the Holy City" on April 8, 2010 at UCLA.
This lecture discusses the significance of the Gihon Spring to the ancient city of Jerusalem. Not only was it Jerusalem's chief water supply, but it was instrumental in the coronation ceremonies of Israel's kings. Dr. Cargill also discusses how the "Triumphal Entry" of Jesus was actually a claim to the throne.
