Are you trying to find a way out of unemployment and under 42? If you're fit enough, then maybe you should consider the US Army.

  • Been considering this also, but after seeing a few disabled vets i strongly went against it, yes we don't have a job but its better than not having an arm or legs, plus i personally don't have major responsibilities like a child or wife to take care of.

Hey a few months from now let me know if you're still alive or have all your limbs still intact. Yes it's desperate move!

  • @SpecialElements I'm going into a combat support MOS so I really doubt that I'll be in as many combat situations as an infantryman. In a few months from now, I hopefully will have passed basic training and be in tech school in Oklahoma. there are plenty of non combat positions in the Army so losing your limbs shouldn't be a serious consideration.

  • Good for you, I am disgusted being out of work for over two years now...but I am 42 and no military or police department will accept anyone that age dispite having a BA/Masters degree..

  • @9secondsflat yeah seriously the business had been failing for years and had to take out a loan to keep us afloat while laying off 2/3rds of their employees and temps. still, graphic design is something most companies think they can get done for cheap or even in-house these days. it ain't easy, but made things a little better was surrounding myself with good positive people.

  • This is a draft. The unemployed have no choice. Official unemployment is 9.4%, but once you add those off benefits or never sought benefits its over 22%.

Army pay & benefits are at historic lows, just up slightly since the outbreak of these immoral & unlawful wars of aggression. The compensation is not even close to what would be honorable, for the risk & damage to GIs lives.

DON'T GO INTO THE ARMED FORCES

  • @9secondsflat

dang, I'm sorry to hear that... gl to you bud.

  • @Onset61 I respect what you say, but the applications I have viewed/downloaded all have a age limit.

  • @9secondsflat I went to a police academy last year and i had a 50 year old man there....your age wont make a difference. i even heard of a 71 year old making it through...

  • @Squeaky3384 nvm lmao
