I really liked this video right up until the end. I wish it didnt have a picture of 8 Belles breaking down. It is great to honor her like this. As far as horse racing I am undecided, I hate so much to see horses, or any animals, in pain and knowing humans are the cause. Sometimes life is cruel. RIP 8 BELLES.

I do not agree with arbnt 100%. It is half and half about what happens on the track. But there are plenty of caring people who love the sport for the horses instead of the $ which most of the time you will lose more than you make.

horses love racing in in their blood when horses get kille din equestrian events no one cares but in horse racing it is a "tragedy" no matter what horses will get hurt even in the paddock,in the riding school ring everything we do with horses is dangerous for both horse and human

I don't get it. How come people such as arbpnt, leave dumb comments and they either open up their account the day before or have nothing on it.

thats not true. really, a lot of racers do it, just because its what they love. running on a horse like eight belles, i would have given anything, it would be truely amazing. racing is so much fun, its not just 1%.

arbpnt- I agree with you 100 %. people have NO idea what actually happens to race horses, and it's unbelievable how they treat these trusting animals. I admire you for taking a ex racehorse under your wing. It's a wonderful thing.

It really should be illegal, but there's too much money involved to do so.... but it's just so not fair. Money shouldn't even matter in this case..

Actually in any Equine Related Sport injuries are due to occur, from racing to trails it happens.think about it at the gallop they're entire body weight is placed on one leg,of course its going to happen, but these horses naturally race each other, watch a horse in the pasture 99% of the time they're galloping.Plus it keys in their instinct. If you're saying that racing should be illegal that so should all domestication of horses, they can get just as hurt in a stall and the feild as they can riding.

I agree about the breeding as well.

And horses seem like extremely strong creatures, and they are, but at the same time, they are so fragile. Anyone who knows horses or has spent a good amount of time around them would know that.
