Today I asked two Elders to talk about Temples and why do LDS (Mormons) keep them holy. Also we tried to explain what's the main purpose of these Temples on Earth and why we're blessed to have Restored Gospel in our lives. Please feel free to comment or ask questions!

@pauchara Really? I am guessing you are talking about 1 Corinthians 15:29, first read it in context read the whole capter not just one verse. Paul used this example from the pagans in 1 Cor. 15:29, when he said, "...if the dead are not raised, then why are THEY baptized for the dead?" Paul did not say WE. This is significant because the Christian church was not practicing baptism for the dead, but the pagans were.

They baptize the dead in their temples, my french professor does them a couple times a month, she told me all about them.

The bottom line, where in the Bible or Book of Mormon do we fine these temple rituals? they must be all over since the LDS put most thier faith in the "church" and the temples. To me it look like Mormonism teachs good people how to stay bussy and not seek Jesus. Jesus is the only way we are saved and if we are TRYING to DO things to earn this salvation then we take our eyes off the truth in Jesus!

Baptism for the dead is mentioned in 1 Cor. 15:29, "Otherwise, what will those do who are baptized for the dead? If the dead are not raised at all, why then are they baptized for them?" it is the practice of baptizing a living person on behalf of a dead person. Though 1 Cor. 15:29 mentions this concept, is not saying that True Christians baptize the dead. He is speaking of the context of physical resurrection and he asks if it is not true, then why are "they" baptized for them, not "we."
