I'm a Yank, born and bred to be American. But I'm not so blind to actually thing that you could beat a Defender. Land Rovers are easily the toughest vehicles on the road.

I could beat a Defender 90. I could get me a branch with some leaves on the end and I would Basil thrash that Land-Rover within an inch of it's muddy life!!

I have a Defender 90 and the reason why i have one is because its a good all round vehicle, whether it being cold, wet, snowy, sunny, or swamp/muddy ground, it will make sure it gets to from A to B, and back again.
Don't see many Ford's managing that!

I,m an English guy and i have had a defender from new in 96,, i put a galvanised chasiss on her and a stainless steel exaust she starts evry time never let me down has done 150 tho still pulls like a mule so i love it BUT the American humvee is a better tool ,, just sayin

you're right - the Landie's are THE best ever in the mud/snow/sand - everything are just pretending and playing at it.
It just all seems abit wated when you driving down the motorway and popping to the shops for a pint of milk.
