@Cherellie101 Well you are represented by your book, and by claiming complete faith and belief in that book, much has been said for you.
-
@BrooklynRagtag like I say I've never heard of them... but I also got my quotes from Wikipedia. So for somebody who told me "ignorant to make... claims before doing any reading or research" Perhaps you should follow your own advice.. Just read to the bottom of that very same page. I too am not trying to be rude, you sound really very polite, so respect for that. Wiki is really not a good source of information though by most standards.

@MrLittletomdj The Piraha tribe has a culture of empiricism. They are quite dissimilar from Native American tribes as they have no legends and no history at all. They are "concerned solely with matters that fall within direct personal experience" (from the Wiki article). Their language even revolves around this. I have strong doubts that the Pirahas actually have any beliefs in unobservable spirits.
-
@BrooklynRagtag I'd not heard of the Piraha tribe before. But with a quick check on google I found "they do believe in spirits that can sometimes take on the shape of things in the environment." 7 "Xigagaí, one of the beings that lives above the clouds". This is similar to early indian faiths, Aboriginal beliefs, tribal african faiths etc. It's tricky to try and explain. Religions have become more monotheistic. The collective spirits of nature being replaced with the driving force behind them.

@MrLittletomdj I didn't mean any disrespect. I hear people saying these things so frequently and they aren't true. The Pirahã tribe is an example of a culture that has no supernatural beliefs. I'm also not totally sure what you mean that every culture has been spiritual. There doesn't seem to be any one belief that that is common to even the limited number of religions with which I'm familiar. My point is only that it's important to really evaluate claims before you make them.
Best,
BR

@BrooklynRagtag well I've read the Bible, The Qu'ran, Guru Granth Sahib.. It's not like I haven't studied... I can't think of a culture without a historical belief system.. can you name one? Sure there are predominantly athiestic countries, but this trand has only developed relatively recently. As for testing coonsciousness and how the brain developes it is not what I was saying. I'm a little resentful you'd presume I was just making things up to sound liberal.

@MrLittletomdj Hello sir or mam. I believe you have made a few errors in your post. There are cultures that have no supernatural beliefs. Though I've heard many similar claims about the "harmony of spiritual cores," I've never seen anyone justify that claim or define the terms. We have a good understanding of the physiology of consciousness and it can be studied in a lab.
It comes off a little ignorant to make such dramatic claims before doing any reading or research to back those claims up.

The problem with science is that it clings rigidly to testible imperical evidence. It views patterns as corrolation but not causal.Human consciousness does not develope in a lab.The fact every culture in recorded history and beyond has been in someway spiritual up to now must count for something. The dogma, doctrines, priests & laws are the crusts which develope conflict. The spiritual cores of all of them reside in harmony. When science and spirituality understand one another we evolve!
atheists attack you...what...oh no,its other way around, but when you do it,then its not attacking, its "helping us understand"...fag

I am a Christian and i don't have a organized religion..I represent myself..only i can except Jesus for myself. My pastor can't save me, my mother can't save me. Your not supporting fact. I believe fossils are real and that carbon dating is real as well.
