Just in time for the 2010 Indy 500, I present a delightfully amateurish (yet remarkably thorough!) tour of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway from a non-credentialed spectator's perspective.

IMS is a fantastic, highly unique facility, and the Indianapolis 500 is something that must be seen live at least once per lifetime.

  • Shame on you. You didnt even show the museum!

  • @ps249 Oh I TOTALLY showed the museum at 3:38...don't know what you're complaining about ;)

  • Amateur (of course...) but very, very good video !

I´m brazilian - like Castroneves and Kanaan. People in Brazil knows a little part of the universe of Indy, but for me, Indianapolis MS is a temple. Tks for post it !

  • @marcoscaiafa Yeah! That's cool...I wish the American drivers were more competitive with the Brazilians in the series, because outside of Indianapolis, no one watches.

Personally I've been rooting for Vitor Meira to win a race for the last 5 years, but it looks less and less likely. Though he came pretty close in Sao Paulo this year (which was a good race)!

  • wow i had no idea that place was so huge

  • @coopkabob It's enormous...I probably walked close to 5 miles that day. Amazing that they keep it in such good condition.

  • My seats are in the tower terrace its really cool!

  • at 6:30 you are sitting in almost the same spot that I sat at the 2002 Indy 500. You get a good view of the pits, and no sun above you. I could see most of the front straight and turn 1. You do have the big screen across the track which shows essentially what is being broadcasted. Also was able to see Helio climb the fence/

  • I WORK THERE!!!! >.<

  • @bradwking1 The MotoGP product is certainly much more like it should be than the open wheel product (and you DID happen to see just about the least exciting 500 ever last year). I wish I could have been there in the early 90s when the Indy cars had turbos, nearly 1000 HP with less downforce, and were going over 240 on the straightaways...THAT was some power!
