Taken from "Polluting the Fountain of Youth" (c) Karst Productions for A&E TV (Fair Use Clause 1976 Copyright Act) to educate and build support for action on environmental issues - especially at this time when our own Governor Rick Scott and Senator Marco Rubio support drilling oil wells in The Everglades (stupid).

My caving instructor, Harry Averill, is one of the divers and worked with Karst Productions. Support them by visiting KarstProductions.com where you'll find this and other titles concerning the Floridan acquifer on DVD.

Since T.S. Debby dumped avg 13" rain on the area, some of these springs are pulling water back into the aquife; in which case nobody would be diving, because they're all blacked out - meaning most N Fla rivers contain tannin that colors the water like tea, so it makes it even more dangerous.

Getting to see the entrance of an aquifer is really cool.

well, north Florida has had two tropical storm events this month, Beryl and Debby, and both have dumped literally tons of rain. Much of the rain, that doesn't run off into the creeks, rivers, and then ocean, recharges the Floridan aquifer, chemicals and all.

    Thanks for watching :-)
