A SONG ALWAYS ASSOCIATED WITH IRISH TENOR JOHN MCCORMACK. RICHARD CROOKS SINGS A FINE RENDITION, WORTHY OF MCCORMACKS MEMORY, ORCHESTRA CONDUCTED BY ALFRED WALLENSTEIN... ENJOY!!!!!
He was a fine lyric tenor singing lyric roles and radio brdcsts. He sang lyric roles at the met and elsewhere in addition to the fine Firestone Brdcsts he was on.
Hard to beat McCormack in this song but for me Crooks is the only one that comes close.

Wonderful. Crooks is without a doubt the finest American tenor of the last century.
But what happened to the ending?

A worthy attempt at this old McCormack classic but nobody could quite achieve the unique floating quality of the Count.
