Another classic recording of the Eroica, a 1957 live recording that is the 'fastest' Klemperer performance preserved. Thunderous and majestic, always with a sense of purpose and depth and a slashing, severe Funeral March.

Enjoy.

  • This symphony is simply a 'natural' for Klemperer's tempo and strong sense of dynamics.

  • Far superior to his NPO recording.

  • Wonderfull recording, Klemperer on form was the greatest.

  • A fitting conclusion to what I have come to think is the greatest "Eroica" ever recorded.
