Bad guy lays and doesn't move, the dog starts the bark and hold, bad guy reaches for weapon. I trained with german/overseas officer 10 years ago with the B&H exercise, i like the dog to bite and hold, keeps the bad guy occupied until he or she is cuffed/secured. B&H does come in handy in some situations, i like the B&H better when its done on command from the handler with the option of when the handler feels it necessary.

In Sweden, the police dogs are trained to only bite if the suspect is moving. If they are completly still, the dog will guard them and bark constantly until the handler gets there. Much better, imho.
