@clintfan38 Amen, brother. What happened to this magic, simple music?

@lasttrain09 I've always loved that moment as well in this clip, Red kinda shakes his shoulders communicating to Gord that they're ''in the moment'', a very sweet solo by Red for sure....
-
I like it when Gorden looks at Red and smiles in approval of how he's playing those heartfelt notes.
-
the true image of gordon look into the look and read the picture he is emulating to all of us a tapestry of technicolour illumination.the song and the story match as ever kudos to gordon red and rick for performing to perfection as always...

If you go to the CBC Archives, you can get a better video quality of this.
BTW, this was recorded on the Wayne and Shuster Show in 1970 in Toronto.

Oneof the very best. His live performance so matches his recordings that it seems humanly impossible, every note, every chord, every nuance in his voice, the arrangements just perfect.
Thank you for putting this up.....

My favourite song from the album. Love it.

All I can say to my Canadian friends is, don't have an inferiority feeling. The opposite. You have a public broadcaster superior the the US version. You have a tougher climate, yet you find it possible to have universal health insurance. You had Marshall McLuhan who, while incomprehensible, had people who thought about it realize The Medium is the Message. Carry on. Other than zealots, in election season, no US person puts "vote for" posters on their lawns. You guys do.

You can put on a Gordon Lightfoot song, close your eyes, and immediately be transported back to the first time you heard it. And all the old feelings are there like they were at the beginning. His music is timeless. Talk about feeling mellow..two..three...

Red always put just the right notes and riffs where they worked the best. What a great guitarist with a smooth almost effortless style. RIP Red.
