"Expurgated" yikes I have to admit that I had to look that one up!! :-o
Hope you and yours have not been endangered by the floods. I have only 1/2 my Ark finished, so I cannot lend you my ship!

Great! No oi-tsuki - gyaku-tsuki - mae-geri defence.

This is great! I used to hate Saifa but methinks I should practice it more now.

Nice and good drill, however, seems to have left out that there is a throw, as an alternative to the open, with a twist of the arms over each other (x) and the knee/kick is a sweep that drops uke. Sorry don't have video.

This drill is a flow drill that encapsulates the whole kata; hence, moves within the length of the drill that would stop the flow of the kata through to completion are counter productive to the purpose of the drill... One can indeed finish the fight at any appropriate point (see the reference to a takedown after the open/close sequence); those applications are all still there, you just don't complete them if you run the drill through to completion.
