A 1995 music video for the 1930 Annette Hanshaw recording of the song. The lipsynch performance is by Jacquelyn Denning. The sequence was created as part of the surrealist Chicago cable access mini-series "Faces", directed by Sean Guinan. In 1996, "Faces" won runner-up at the national Hometown Video Festival in the "Innovative" category.

  • How old was this girl when the video was made?

  • @harrell222 Yeah, she was a heartbreaker alright. I don't recall how old she was here...early to mid twenties, somewhere.

  • I find it hard to believe that ever since Jacquelyn Denning appeared in this lovely video of yours she either derived or was typecast into comedy. What a bummer. I can do without typecasting if this is a representative example of what it can accomplish. I would have imagined her as a greatly expressive, versatile intriguingly dramatic actress. I can't get enough of your video though, thanx for getting it really right the first time.

  • I'm so glad you like it! I actually devised this little piece for Jackie when she auditioned for me many years ago...she didn't fit into any part I needed at the time, but she was so striking that I felt I had to use her, somehow. I've always thought that I gave her a worthwhile vehicle to be remembered by.

  • Rediculous! What's the point?

  • She is just breathtaking

  • This is John Lennon's favourite song as a child, according to a 25 Aug 2009 article in the Daily Telegraph, "Sir Paul McCartney denies he did not get on with John Lennon."

  • Not bad...nice lookin girl in that old timey kinda way

  • It's lovely! I'm glad someone thinks enough of Annette to make a copy.

  • @possiblyblank You certainly did, this is unforgettable. I think they call it timeless. :)
