  • The Cadenza intro should be more relaxed, DREAMY as the music says! The 4th time when you play the phrase, the one going up and down, more fun like and playful...then right when you go up and down from low A sharp and B, start to be more aggressive and attack them solidly, but not too harsh. When the main cadenza starts, my god play the arrepg. with FIRE! When you reach high notes, emphasis on making them solid attacks and make them stick out of the rest! And please practice slowly :(

Um... I'm not still working on this piece two years later. I worked on it for several months (I hadn't been playing it long at this point), performed it as some competitions and now I'm done with it. You can check out some of my other clarinet videos if you like... there's a full recording of myself performing this with piano too. Then post your own version of the cadenza if you'd like. ;)

  • @benefielblues Are you in college yet??? I applied to my music schools with copland concerto like a boss :/ I think Copland is pretty much a requirement for many colleges as Doc. degrees :O I'm thinking of putting up a vid. of me doing an analysis of Copland piece in general...

  • @IMASIANSNIPA

I was a performance major for one year, but my professor quit and I didn't really have any interest in spending my time getting a music degree rather than creating music. So I did a junior recital and dropped the major. :P

  • I thought it was very good. Being a clarinet player myself, I would just like to say that you could toy a little more with the tempo on the arpeggios. Just because there are a bunch of notes doesn't mean it needs to be too impressively fast =)

  • I know what you mean. This was a rather rigid recording. Avoiding that feeling has been one of the elements I have worked on the most in the cadenza specifically.
