  • Did he bring the stones (I'm imagining large stones, maybe 1 meter square (3 feet by 3 feet) for the purpose of heating the land so he could grow lemons and peaches, or did they just happen to be there and he noticed that the area where they were/are was warmer than the surrounding area? If it gets down to freezing very often, it seems that the stones would also get cold. Did he say what type of stones they were ... sandstone, granite ...?

  • My impression is that all of the stones were already there. Most of them he left right where they were and some of them he moved.

It gets down to about 20 below (F) there in the winter.

  • Intriguing. I couldn't work out how he prevents the stones from settling in to the local equilibrium, though. In what way are his stones different from ant random stones spread around a site?

  • I don't think his stones are different. I think that most folks are keen on getting rid of stones. I think Sepp is keen on leaving them in place - or very close to where he found them.

  • Thanks Paul. Very important massage. some people may not value the video so much though because the ton is rather low quality. needs some time to get into it and understand.

  • When you say "ton" do you mean "tone"?

I shot this with my old camera that was designed for underwater stuff which seemed to mess with the sound. My new camera is far, far better with sound.

  • more clips!!! these are awesome, thanks!

  • I'm afraid this audio is difficult to understand. :(

Some simple diagrams might help clarify.

How big of stones are we talking about here? How big of a pond? How are they placed on the slope?

  • @frankefficacy He planted large stones in a V-form where the opening of the V points south. in there, right at the stone, the citrus trees are planted. He also used only citrus trees grown from seeds on his hill. Near to all seedlings doesn't survive. Some do and they are planted outside. He says they don't need any extra care.

  • Well Paul I see that few people are giving thumbs up to comments so i went through and gave a bunch of thumbs up to positive comments..
