  • This is great video. Thank you for your time and effort. To me tried to be as scientific as possible and make it fair comparison. When I drive to Texas next I plan on stopping in LA die to this video.

  • @cahoonm

    Thanks,

We appreciate the support, when your in LA make sure to have some of the incredible seafood.

Cahoonm, I'm glad to hear you are not coming to LA to die, you would miss out on the South Louisiana hospitality and of course the great food.

Let me know when you are coming and I will suggest some restaurants for you to try.

    Thanks,

    Chef Tony

  • @JayPatrickVO I think you're right. Strange indeed.

  • At 7:05, it's clear to see the infrared emitted signal on the top of the water in the BGE - at 7:31, the emitted light is clearly on the side of the pan ... which appears to be empty. ???

  • Not to be to critical but the differences you have noted here are really irrelevant in the real world. I have a Grill Dome a Green egg and a Grill pod and to be brutally honest all the ceramics cook exactly the same. My favorite ceramic BBQ is my Grill pod and thats only because it cost far less then either my Grill Dome or my Green egg both of which are way over priced As far as fuel consumption and flavor all the ceramics are on par. When it comes to BBQ It's not the tool it's the cook

  • @crescent11 I agree totally. I was just thinking that. Bias is a bit visible here. Certainly not enough difference here to warrant a decision. I'm thinkin' if one was $100 bucks less than the other - that's where I'm heading - without bias.

  • Have to take issue with your temp reporting. Both units appear to be similar, yet you low ball the BGE and high mark the Grill Dome. Even from your poor camera work its clear both pans were at 295 F. The egg showed a higher than 300F reading before stabilizing, while the dome never got past 295F.

Science has a way of deleting initial bias, try to remember that.

  • Thanks for the informative review.
