The last 5 percent

The Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, Janet Napolitano, has said the Obama administration will continue building the border wall, at least the final 70 miles of currently budgeted construction. This video focuses on what that final 70 miles consists of, much of it wildlife preserves and private property which will be taken by the federal government. Much of the construction is in the Lower Rio Grande Valley, one of the most biodiverse places in the United States. About 95 percent of this ecosystem has already been lost to human development. Now the last 5 percent is facing the US border wall.

Unreal. To cut people and wildlife off like that. Was the wall completed? It appears our civilization hasn't emerged from the dark ages yet. It's not evolving much at all.

About 650 miles of wall has been built, of a 2000-mile border. Several members of the Senate and House of Reps have introduced legislation to have double wall along the entire 2000 miles.

About 20 miles of the current authorization remains to be built because landowners in Texas are doing their best to hold up the process. So building is ongoing, but it has slowed considerably until new mileage is approved by Congress.

I say build the wall, double it, go the entire 2000 miles. I'd gladly contribute $2 of my paycheck every week to have it done, just to keep the illegals OUT. If you want to live in MY country, then enter it legally, and welcome...otherwise, stay out. I'd say shoot them, that's how frustrated I am with my tax dollars thta I've worked so hard for going for their free medical, free housing, free everything..
