This was a freedivingworld rec in 2003-2005
The thing around my neck is to even out the bouency of the air in my lungs.
The video has been made from material shot on two different days - you can tell from the sunshine in uw-images. This was to make more interesting to watch - but it doesnt make the dive a fake :-) Check out www.aida-international.org -history of world records ;-)
The previous world record at 183m was held by austrian Herbert Nietsch, so beating that record by 17m is still the largest margin that the world record in Dynamic Apnea with fins has been beaten by... Enjoy!
Thanks for the video - sublime style.
You mention that your monofin is a medium (stiffness); but it seems rather hard/stiff in the video. Is there a difference in stiffness between monofins and dual fins?

Wow! I can't believe I saw this sooner!! I've been free diving for two years now And I can only make it 100m with a monofin, and even then, barely!! Congrats man! I hope someday I can do that too!
