IT GETS BETTER - A GAY MORMON'S STORY - MATT SUTTON

My name is Matt Sutton. I am a Gay Mormon, and I am here to tell all the Struggling Young LGBT Kids... IT DOES GET BETTER!!!

Don't get me wrong, your still going to have struggles, but things are going to get better and your going to be able to live with it. Whatever happens to you know is only going to make you stronger in the end.

My story is pretty crazy, me ending up gay and mormon. I had a really hard time, worste than most people I know, because it was especially not accepted in the mormon community. I was very much ostracized for everyone, my family looked down on me with shame, I was sent to all kinds of therapists and counselors. It was awful!!! I felt like I didn't even have a family... and the worste part was NOONE COULD UNDERSTAND ME! Everyone just wanted to change me! I eventually isolated from my family and the church all together. I then looked to find comfort and support elsewhere... I ended up getting involved with the wrong kind of people, and too numb my pain and my feelings of abandonment I fell into drugs and alcohol, became a complete cocaine addict and alcoholic. I did all kinds of incomprehensible demoralizations. I ended up in all kinds of legal trouble. I was a mess.




LUCKILY, I was able to get some help, ended up in rehab, and thats when I finally got to know myself and become in acceptance of WHO I AM! I was finally able to mend my relationships with my family and society.

TODAY, I am proud of who I am. I have a WONDERFUL LIFE! I have a WONDERFUL FAMILY THAT FULLY ACCEPTS ME NOW, I HAVE WONDERFUL FRIENDS, I HAVE 6 ANIMALS, I VOLUNTEER WITH CHARITY, I AM GOING TO SCHOOL FOR ADVERTISING, I AM HEALTHY, I HAVE RESPECT FROM MY PEERS, I HAVE A WONDERFUL RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD. I WOULD NOT TRADE MY LIFE FOR ANYONE ELSE'S!!! I LOVE WHO I AM TODAY!!! IT GETS SOOOOO SOOOOOOOOO SOOOOOOOOOO MUCH BETTER!!!

I PROMISE YOU! JUST HANG IN THERE! IT WILL GET BETTER!

Your story is very inspirational to me. I am an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I am bisexual. I have only told a few friends, but I am moving out in a year and then I hope to live the lifestyle I want with a man or a woman that I love. I have a lot of anger towards the Church members because of their ignorance. I have attempted suicide a lot of times, but I finally began to deal with my feelings.  Your video makes me feel strong. Thank you.

being gay is not a sin aginst god. why would he cast you out of his kingdom becouse of your sexuality. love is boundles and so powerful. if you love the lord and exept him he will exept you like he allways has. stay true to yourself friend and live your life being free. god bless.

I loved your story it was an inspirational one I love that you have got a grate group of friends and family that realy love who you are, and the grate young man that you have become.I hope that you have a beautiful life full of love and happyness ,and i hope that you do big think in life and i am glad that you had the strength to stay with us and to live the fantastic life that you are giong to have ( and it is going to be fantastic) GOOD LUCK , GOOD LOVE, GOOD LIFE ........
