great technique for in photoshop! i'll keep this in mind when when doing stylistic super saturated work, tattoos and such.
however, wouldn't a circular polarizer give you better results without the need to go into photoshop?

@tiggstah A polarized filter would help, particularly with the sky and clouds. However, in this case the sky was probably as saturated as it could be anyhow and that would have probably been the only real benefit to using a CPL in the case of this example. Also, with the lens used in this example, a CPL is not an option as the Nikkor 14-24 F2.8 lens used does not accept screw-on filters of any type or size. (It has a gigantic, curved primary lens element.) But thanks for making that suggestion.
