  • This is a film!!?? Ya i was bored and live in winnipeg so i looked up the name; haha MDanie is it totally true, especially downtown -alot of these wierd lanes go wierd places and chop holes right in buildings. Like the cab sciene where one cab blocked another in that strange lane -there are a TON of those, especially in the exhange district. Haha pretty funny for me as a resident here :D

  • Now this just makes me want to learn more about Lorette Ave

Alleys are frequently used in other cities. The difference is no one before has taken the iniative to film them like this before. The film maker takes considerable licence here on commentary.

  • @AugustusLarch I don't think he's saying that only Winnipeg has alleys, just trying to make a point that they're more frequently traveled than alleys in other cities.

  • Alleys aren't on maps because to depict them is a real hassle. It would also make a map confusing to read. It not they they are not legeitimate. Also alleys aren't just select to Winnepeg like this clip implies. I like the premise but the unwarrented claims don't work for me.

  • haha i know your comment is a year old but yes, I used to live there and there are a lot of alley ways and hidden dirt roads!

  • Love zig-zagging through the 'tunnels' in the Exchange.

  • I love this part too... Is anyone here from Winnipeg and know whether or not this "back Alley Winnipeg" exists? I'm actually in the middle of writing a term paper on the film.

  • I loved this part, too, wonderful. Appreciate you posting it.

  • excellent idea & video. the best piece about winnipeg i've seen to date - and i'm working on that subject too:)

congratulation and thanks for the fun :)
