circa 1977 Atlanta cult theatrical satirist "Darryl Rhoades & The Hahavishnu Orchestra" performs on James Brown's "Future Shock" tv show on WTBS right in front of the man as they do a tribute/parody of the Godfather of Soul.
It was rumored that on this night in 1977 That James Brown Felt so Good after this show he quit self medication for 2wks ,OOW I feel good . Darryl had to have been around 14 here ?
can't recall how many times I saw these guys in Athens at Between the Hedges downstairs from Allens. Fucking riot and really talented musicians.
I've heard John McLaughlin and the Mahavishnu Orchestra saw posters for an upcoming Hahavishnu show at the Great Southeast Music Hall and wouldn't play until TGSEMH took the posters down.
Some Hahavishnu, some Men From Glad, songs recorded since both groups and a lot of material with a great show not unlike his past shows. One time only...great band.
Talk about a lost classic... where did you ever come up with this? Thanks for posting!!!
