The Durham College men's basketball team bounced back from an opening night loss in a big way with a 95-69 victory over the Fleming Knights at the CRWC.
The Lords improve to 1-1 in conference play and 7-1 overall to begin the 2010-11 season.
Tyler McGarrity (Ajax, Ont.) was lights out from beyond the arc going 5-for-7 to finish with 19 points. McGarrity also added nine rebounds to his totals, one shy of the double-double.
The Lords led from start to finish and had a 35-point lead in the second half.
Durham College athlete of the year Eric Smith (Ajax, Ont.) went 8-for-10 from the field for 19 points. Courtney Small (Oshawa, Ont.) showed a lot of hustle throughout the game and had six rebounds and four steals while Tyler Pelley had 10 points and four steals.
Fleming's leading scorer was Devon-Allen-Leslie with 13 points.
The Lords outmatched Fleming on the boards winning the rebound battle 50-32. Durham also had six blocked shots in the game.
