The slide comes in at 1:34 if you want to skip forward in this slow blues improvisation on slide guitar in open e tuning with Boss RC3 looper.

Very early days for me learning slide guitar and creating my own solos. I greatly enjoyed videos by Marty Schwartz and found them very helpful e.g. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vAJA33JiArM

Another video I found helpful for getting me started was
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f6mmA0eafK8

There is good info for beginners at http://www.12bar.de/slide.php

There is also a great place for seeing how scales and chords are placed on the fretboard in open e for learning patterns, which I found invaluable:

Please let me know if you have any favorite links which would help me learn more.

  • Yo Carsick great slide work.

Look forward to some long rambling stories about your life riding the rails and hobo-ing around.

  • Hi Squitting Steve. Good rambling stories? Well, how about that time we hired that old car and set out on a road trip. The damn thing only had three wheels. I cuss the man who sold it to us and the criminal price he set. We used what little we had left to buy a dozen kebabs for the journey. How they reeked after a few days cooking on the back seat. As we crossed the country, we sure earned our nicknames: Squitting and Carsick. Jeez that Robin Reliant was a helluva mess by the end.

  • You play with feeling. That slide sounds like it's crying a sad tale. Keep playing what you feel inside. Once you loose yourself in the music, you have reache nirvana.

  • Very delta-like. Good feeling & tone bro.

  • Amazing skills with that loop pedal, Carsickphil ... more please!

  • this has a mesmerising aspect to it - makes a fine background to work to!
