About R.O.P.E. from NNEKA:

ROPE (Reach Out, Organize, Practice, Experience) is an NGO (Non-Governmental Organization)/non-profit organization, our focus is on the youth, giving them the platform to express themselves through the tools of ART: music, film, drama, photography, painting, and dance. We are on the schedule for our upcoming educational workshops in Germany and Nigeria. We are in collaboration with Starcomms Nigeria and Reebok international.

History & FUTURE:

ROPE (Reach Out, Organize, Practice, Experience) was founded by Liberian-born Ahmed "Genda" Nyei and Nigerian-born Nneka Egbuna. Even though Nneka & Genda were from different places, different backgrounds, different cultures, and had different life histories, however each saw with the same eyes. Each saw the same needs and came together to do what they could to help the situation:" We are musicians so we use our words and music to raise awareness, however we want to do more than just to raise awareness. We want to find solutions."

We saw people, particularly children, who were less privileged than ourselves, handicapped by disadvantages -- resulting from war, from poverty, from exploitation of all types. We saw children without perspectives. We saw a wealth of wasted talent and potential. We saw stifled visions and dreams with no ground in which to take root and grow.
