To all of you watching and thinking of working for SCDC. Ive been working as a correctional officer for 13yrs. im now a sgt. and can tell you its tuff but these other people posting these comments are the cowards that ive been working with. So come on so we can dump these losers

probably one of the worst places to work it was all for the inmate officers were treated like second class citizens and heaven help you if you were the officer that wanted to do his or her job you were the bad guy

People are complaining about working here huh? Big Suprise. It's prison people. Like every other job it has it's ups and downs and negative people nobody wants to work with or for. If you are looking for a job just to pay your bills, don't do it because you will never be happy. It's a calling and a passion. Not just a means to get by. To all my brothers and sisters in corrections, thank you for the job you do. To all my complainers cry me a river and get lost. WE DON"T WANT NOR NEED YOU HERE!

ive been with scdc for 7 years. i have made my rank up fast paced and now stand as a lieutentant. member of the rrt team and have loved every moment of it. every day is diffrent and there have been days where i came home in a diffrent uniform, and wondered why will i return ? but i do. its not a job for some one who loves it , its a passion. im at perry correctional and we like every where eles has its problems but we are perry . its not for everyone but it is for me .... passion

i guess the reason you complaining about how terrible your life in scdc it because this job is not meant to you. ive been working in scdc for 12 yrs not a single time i complain about it. you know why, when i join scdc i already expected what im in to. instead you bitching about it why dont you quit and work in walmart greating people

once again do not apply if your the type of person that wants to enforce policy this job is not for you, i worked at a facility and every time i tried to enforce policy i was not supported the captain made sure that i was a complete nobody and i think he was a real prick

i have a dear friend a female in camille grahmn inst in columbia.i just did 5 yrs here in la for some bs they waited 6 yrs to come to virginia to jam me up for.i already know how you hillbilly clowns operate in slow ass south carolina;remember that inmates are human beings,too,and god sits high and he looks low.i'mnot gonna curse or disrespect you;just know that you can't get away forever,billy bob.i wasn't violent or hateful before i went to prison,i suffer from ptsd and have panic attacks now.
